Steps to follow for right foundation shade

Step 1: First of all basis your skin tone, undertone and skin type shortlist three shades that seem to be a good match. You can easily find the information related to an undertone, skin type and coverage on the cover.

Step 2: Then, dab each shade as short lines on your jawline (do keep some space in between each).Note down the one which just blends with your skin. Do the same on your neck. Select the one which blends seamlessly with the neck and the jawline.

Step 3: Remove the two that don’t suit you. Take the one you shortlisted and spread it the across your jawline and sweep a cotton bud soaked in makeup remover right in the middle.

Step 4: See if you notice any difference between your foundation and bare skin. If you don’t notice any difference, then that’s the shade for you. But, if you see a difference between the two, this shade is not for you. Repeat the same steps with other shades until you find your right one.

Sometimes, you might not be able to find the exact match for you. In that case, the key is to find not one, but two shades that you can mix and match as per your skin.

If you want to avoid going outside in these times and also want to save yourself from all this swatching and all, there are certain apps which can tell you your right shade. I recently tried many of them when I wanted to buy one for myself and could not go outside because of Corona. Not only just the foundation, but you can also find out other beauty products for yourself.
