Hey guys, What’s up?? How was Raksha Bandhan for you all ?? Gym equipment
Rakhi is just the beginning of the festive season and as well as the beginning of weight gain for many of us (If you have a sweet tooth like me, you can definitely relate :D). The festive season is something where you just can’t resist the sweets lying in front of you. It encourages us to over-eating and consumption of those calorie-rich foods and we can’t help in it. Moreover, with many of us sitting and working from home only, it is difficult to avoid putting on a couple of extra kilograms.
Being at home should not stop you from the pleasure of using gym equipment. There are plenty of objects around our home which we can be used to replace the gym equipment and help us in keeping fit that too budget-friendly. So go ahead and read further to check what all can be used from our home to get us in shape.
Stairs: This is the best option for cardio. Walk up and down a few times on stairs and to make it harder you can carry some heavy object for weight resistance. They are a great way to get your heart rate up and will make you sweat for sure. Also, you can use it for steps up also.
Stool/Small table: Use the stool lying around your home as a step up stool. Brace it against a wall to keep it from sliding forward.
Water bottles: Replace your dumbbells with water bottles. They can be used for your biceps and triceps. You can do exercises like arm curls, arm overhead extensions and arm overhead presses. You can also use them for kettlebell swings.
Heavy book or backpack: Use them as your weight while doing cardio and bodyweight exercises. Place them on your chest while doing crunches or on your back during planks. Balance the book on your shins and sit on a chair with your legs close together. Slowly raise and lower your leg.
Chair for dips and incline push-ups: Place your hands on both front corners of the seat, extend your legs, bend your elbows to lower yourself down, then straighten your arms to raise yourself back up. A chair can be used to do modified push-ups. You can do an inclined push-up by placing your hands on the chair and extending your legs. Similarly now place your feet on the chair, back on the ground and raise yourself for a perfect crunch.
Wall: A wall is something that you can find it anywhere. Use the wall to do hand push-ups and various stretches. A wall can intensify many moves that are typically done on the floor and engage the core and stabilizers of the hips and shoulders depending on the area of focus. The below image gives you an idea to use a wall as your daily gym equipment for push-up taps, wall squats, leg lift, bridge hip-up etc.
Sofa/Couches: Yes, you read it right. You can mix your leisure time with exercises. Couches are not just for lazing around, they can be used as a work-out bench for many exercises. Have a look at the below picture to know many ways in which a sofa can be used for doing your daily exercises like the couch bike, couch dips,push-ups, leg stretch and lunges.
