Warm, fuzzy blankets; the feel of chill on your palms, the sun on a winter morning, and most of all, the warmth of a hot beverage seeping through your fingers. Winter is the season of love and celebrations but at the same time, it is the season that requires extra care of our skin and body to keep it glowing. Winter care is very essential to keep our body nourished.
Winter months make your skin dry and leave it feeling raw as it is responsible for low humidity levels. Even options like sitting by a fire or in a room with a heater, taking a hot shower to warm up, can make your skin dry and take all the nourishment. Winter care winter care winter care s

Tips to follow
Drink lots of water
The first step in winter care is to drink lots and lots of water. We often forget to drink enough water or feel less dehydrated throughout the day when it’s cold outside, but we should not forget that our body is losing water in so many ways and this is just when low humidity is most likely to strip our poor skin of its moisture. Therefore, it is imperative to load up on water even during cold winter days. Refill your system with water and get glowing skin without having to worry about dullness anymore. You can get a water alarm on your phone if you forget drinking water as I do.
Exfoliate for excellent skin
You might be thinking what am I saying, Exfoliate! There are many benefits to exfoliating your skin during winter one of them being, it will take off the dry and dead skin cells and at the same time also helps you regenerate new ones. It is always a good idea to use a gentle loofah in the shower and exfoliate with a mild body scrub free from Salicylic and Glycolic Acid once or twice a week. Make sure you don’t overdo it or you’ll be stripping off your skin barrier when you need it the most. Winter winter skincare
Keep those showers short and sweet
Are you someone who loves long hot water shower in this cold season? I was definitely the one a few years back but you gotta change if you want to keep your body hydrated and moisturized. Hot showers and long baths are a big no-no. Hot water dehydrates you and strips away the necessary oils from your body. Your skin will be much better served with a 5- to 10-minute lukewarm shower (or bath). Winter care winter care winter care
There’s a misconception that washing your hands with hot water kills germs but mind that using excessively hot water when washing your hands will make them dry. Washing your hands in cooler water appears to be as effective at removing germs as warm water and is less irritating to the skin. Also, one more tip, if you’re using a restroom air hand-dryer, use it just until your hands are damp rather than perfectly dry. winter skincare winter skincare winter skincare
Use a natural moisturizer and apply immediately after washing
Moisturising is one of the most important steps that one must do to have glowing skin in winters. It helps in keeping our skin hydrated and makes sure that the skin does not lose its natural oil. Moisturizers or lotion after washing is a good way to lock in as much moisture as possible. Apply a thick layer of your lotion not just on your body but on your hand and feels. Cream-based cleansers are a good option for winters. Try to avoid toners and astringents as many astringents contain alcohol, which can further dry your skin. winter skincare winter skincare winter skincare
Replenish Your Skin At Night
If you wish to see healthy skin, use a richer moisturizer on your face during night time. You can moisturize with oils too like coconut oil etc And don’t forget your lips. Applying a moisturizing balm (such as petroleum jelly or another ointment) can help heal dry, cracked lips and keep them from getting chapped.
Get A Mild Cleanser
Always and always, use a milder, more moisturizing, and weakly acidic cleanser for winters compared to the one you are using in summers. It will not only help you in keeping your skin moisturized but besides balances your skin’s pH levels also. I used this cleanser from Cetaphil.
Eat Healthy Food
Last but not the least, we don’t need to tell you this but It is important to maintain a healthy diet to maintain water content and boost sebum production in the body. Consuming foods rich in Vitamin E, A, and C can maintain good skin health. Some winter fruits rich in Vitamins and antioxidants:
